HTC 10 Flagship Will Drop the M Branding+Leaked Prototype Specs!
HTC has already revved up the hype machine for the launch of their next flagship. Over the past few weeks we have seen numerous teasers in picture and video form on Facebook and Twitter. The rumors and leaks keep pouring in. Last night, popular leaked Evan Blass tweeted that HTC will drop the M branding from their flagship and simply call the next phone the HTC 10. This would definitely create a distinction between their flagship and mid-tier lines but it would be interesting to see how that naming convention works going forward.
In addition to the branding choices, we also received some leaked specs from another popular mobile leaker on Twitter. Earlier this morning @OnLeaks tweeted out the HTC 10 model number from a screenshot, as well as some supposed specs for the phone. According to him we're looking at a 5.15" QHD display, Snapdragon 820, Adreno 530, 4 GB of RAM, 12 MP camera, and USB Type-C for charging. The phone itself looks to be a mashup of the previous M series phones with the One A9 released late last year. Some people will undoubtedly complain it still looks too much like an iPhone, but I think it's an improvement over the A9. The main deciding factor for me will be the camera. HTC has consistently pushed out beautiful hardware and solid software in my opinion, but the camera has been well behind the competition.
