Miracles do Happen! Verizon Galaxy Note 5 Receiving Marshmallow Update
I believe in miracles, you sexy Marshmallow update!
Yesterday Verizon posted an update page for the Galaxy Note 5 that details the bump to Android 6.0.1 with a build number of MMB29K. The update includes all of the usual Marshmallow goodies like Doze mode, Google Now On Tap, as well as performance improvements to Live Broadcasts, and some UI tweaks like new icons. Today is the scheduled rollout, but we know these things tend to roll out rather slowly (I still haven't received that Turbo 2 OTA from a few days ago). The software version will come in at number VRU2BPB2. To check for an update you can look under Settings>About Device>Software updates>Check for Updates.
Many Note 5 users in the US have been upset that carriers have lagged behind on Marshmallow for the recent Samsung flagships while companies like Motorola and LG push out the update. Typically, Verizon and Samsung combine for a very slow update process. The fact that Verizon beat all other US carriers to this update is very surprising to me, but I'm pumped since I have a Verizon Note 5. If you want a list of all changes, hit the source link below. Let me know when this update reaches you, I have my fingers crossed for today!
