Travel decisions...multiple phone problems.
I'm about to take a trip to Pittsburgh to see my fiancee. We currently live apart while I finish my research and teaching contract here in Arizona. Thankfully due to my job in academia we are able to see each other for large chunks of the year. Each time I pack my bag for an east-coast trip I face two major dilemmas. Which sneakers should I bring? Which phones should I bring? In this article I will address the second of these questions. If you're interested in the sneakers I'm taking on the trip, check out the Kicks and Clothes page tomorrow!
I could easily bring all of my phones. Twelve isn't really too many phones. I could tell myself that and just do it. On the other hand, I value my relationship with my fiancee, she might find 12 phones a bit too insane. When I brought 5 phones over Christmas she looked at me a bit funny, I think it best I don't bring 12 and scare her away. I've decided to limit myself to 5 phones once again, better to save the marriage before it begins!
So far I have decided on three of the five phones. The first phone I'm definitely bringing with me is the Galaxy Note 4. I use the S-Pen way too much to consider not bringing this phone along. Answering student questions via email, annotating PDFs, signing contracts, all of these things are much easier with a built-in stylus. The Note 4 is also incredibly smooth and has a big screen for watching media on the plane. I also plan to the bring the LG G4. The G4 is a 5.5" screen in a much smaller body. Having a big screen in a manageable form-factor is incredibly important when traveling. In addition, the G4 has the best camera in the business. With all the pictures I'll take on vacation, this is an indispensable tool to have. Lastly, I'm definitely bringing along the Galaxy S6 Active. The S6 Active is my favorite phone from the 2015 S series, and it makes a great travel companion. The Active features a rugged exterior perfect for outdoor activities and working out in the gym while my fiancee is at work. The battery life on the S6 Active also makes it a prime candidate as a travel buddy.
Now I need your help. I'm going to make a video on my top 5 phones for travel, but which two should make it into my travel rotation? Below is a poll containing all of my remaining phones. Vote for the one you would bring on vacation and let me know why in the comments! I'll have the video on the travel rotation later this week on my Youtube Channel!
