ChromeDroid Theme for Galaxy S7 Edge Titanium Silver

The first Android custom theme for the black Galaxy S7 Edge was such a huge hit I brought the idea back for round two. In this tutorial we'll take a detailed look at how to get the chromed out theme for your Galaxy S7 edge, shown off in my Youtube video. Be sure to check out the recommended cases and full gallery of this theme at the bottom of the guide!

Required Apps

Step by Step Guide

I recommend you begin by installing your theme of choice.  You can do this step later, but it will replace your wallpaper with the wallpaper from the theme. If you plan to use the wallpaper with the theme (shown in part 1 of the video) then it would be fine to do this later. To apply Silver Titanium theme head to Settings => Themes => More Themes => More (Top right) => Search => "Silver Titanium". If you're intrigued by the alternate Silver theme (linked above), simply search for "Silver", you will find that theme as well. Here you can download and install the theme of your choice. Once the theme is installed choose to apply the theme.

If you're not feeling the wallpaper from either of the themes, you can now grab the Chrome Droid wallpaper shown in part 2 of the video. To do this, head to the Backdrops app. Go into Collections (slide out navigation on the left) and choose the free "Be Together" Collection. Scroll down to Gray Maze wallpaper. You can choose to apply or save the wallpaper. If you are running Action Launcher 3 or Nova, you may want to turn off wallpaper scrolling when setting wallpapers from within Backdrops. Once applied you should now have the theme and wallpaper taken care of.

Next, download Action Launcher 3 (or Nova Prime if you prefer) from the above links. Also, download the Flight or Flight Lite icon pack from the links above. To apply Action Launcher 3 open the app, then click to set as default. You can always change back to Touchwiz launcher by navigating to Settings => Default => Applications => Default Applications => Home Screen.

Be aware that setting Action Launcher 3 as default will remove your current home screen setups, including app icons that reside there. You can restore by going into Action 3 Settings and choosing Back and Import Settings => Import  => Touchwiz.

Now that Action 3 is your default launcher you can head into the app and choose Display to customize. Select Icon Pack and choose your previously downloaded icon set from the list. I recommend choosing Smartsize Icons as well to have a consistent look. Also scroll to the bottom and Toggle Off Show Notification Bar if you want a cleaner look on the home screen. Finally, I have enabled auto-covers, changed my font, and set the cover icon color to match the cover. See the images below to make these modifications.

Lastly you will want to add your Trident Widget to the home screen. Head to the home screen and long press to select Widgets from the bottom of the screen. Choose Zooper Widget Pro from the list, which will likely reside at the bottom so you'll need to scroll a good ways down. Select the size widget you would like (I chose 2x2) then add it to the screen. Tap on the widget to head into Zooper and customize. You will then see Trident as an option at the bottom of the list in Zooper. Select this and choose the Persistent widget as displayed in the screen shot below. You can now easily customize the color of your widget as well if you want a color other than white. Lastly, to get a nice look choose the correct scaling, I set mine to 60 on most of my home screens.

Optional Customization

If you want to fit more text on your S7 Edge screen and also get a less clunky look in your notification shade you can also adjust the DPI Scaling and remove the Quick Connect panel (both of these are done in the S7 Edge featured in my video). To remove the Quick Connect panel you can simply head to the notification shade, hit the arrow in the top right corner and choose Edit. When you select Edit the Quick Connect toggle will appear at the bottom of the notification shade and you can turn it off.

Adjusting the DPI scaling will give your device a more condensed look and fit more text on your screen and in some launchers (like Google Now Launcher) even more applications on your home screen. The process is simple and can be found step by step in my Youtube video here:

Chrooma Keyboard is also a great addition to any custom theme on your Android Phone. You can choose to match the color of your keyboard to the app you're using or define a single color for the keyboard throughout all apps. In the video I show off both options, but the silver keyboard looks particularly good with this theme. Check out the screenshots below to apply either option in the Chrooma app.
