Huawei Watch REALLY Getting Marshmallow Today?

March 01, 2016 by Jeff Springer

Yesterday I wrote a quick article pointing out that Huawei Germany announced the Marshmallow update was set to roll out to the Huawei Watch starting yesterday. Quite a few people on Twitter pointed out to me that the update had not been seen anywhere yet, including in Germany. I feel their pain. I'm still bummed about Marshmallow missing on my Huawei Watch while my Moto 360 2nd gen has had it for over a month.

Today Huawei's Community forum announced that Android Wear 1.4, which includes Marshmallow, is really rolling out today. The build number for the software update is MEC23L. You will need 80% charge to get the update and need to be connected to a phone with an internet connection of course. This update has been in testing since late December. I certainly hope this is finally a true rollout. I'm starting to think by starting today, Huawei may mean "in a few months." Let's hope not!

P.S.-No update yet on my watch!

Special thanks to @DaBigDiesel421 on Twitter for pointing this out to me!
